Introducing Mr. and Mrs. Page

“A Love Worth Waiting For”

Looking back at my early life, I’ve realized that I was never that girl who saw myself married with children. Instead, I was more concerned with being a career driven individual that traveled the world and enjoyed every minute of it! Of course I’ve had previous boyfriends and relationships in the past, but getting married was never a top priority of mine! I’ve always been the type of girl that can be stubborn, knows what she wants, had no patience, and refused to let anyone, especially a man, treat me less than my worth. Needless to say, majority of my relationships ended once I saw any sign of drama. I actually remember someone telling me I wasn’t wife material because of all the traits listed above and I believed it myself.

HOW WE MET

I remember randomly deciding to go to the mall during my lunch break in 2009. I went to the Gucci store to pick up some shoes and here comes this tall handsome man dressed in designer from head to toe. We had a brief conversation and he asked for my number. Honestly, he looked like one of those guys that had women chasing after him at his convenience which is why I told him that I would take his info instead. Being the stubborn female that I am, I decided to wait a month before contacting him which completely caught him off guard. Surprisingly, our first phone conversation lasted over 7 hours. That one initial conversation later turned into two and a half years of dating! We honestly couldn’t stay away from each other!

When The Time is Right

After a year of officially dating, we decided it was time to move in together. We literally would spend the night at each others homes every single day of the week. For Christmas, we would host a dinner for close friends and family that consisted of food, drinks, and fun! Christmas 2012 was definitely one to never forgot. At the end of the night when everyone was getting ready to leave, Norm got up and thanked all for coming, then got on one knee to give a certain person in the room a special acknowledgement of love and appreciation..that person was me! Everyone in the room was COMPLETELY caught off guard! I prayed for love, and God sent me a man who not only made me a better person but loved me UNCONDITIONALLY. I couldn’t have imagined a proposal any other way!

A fairytale wedding in Jamaica

Being that we are both into fashion, anything luxury related, and travel, choosing Jamaica was the perfect choice for our destination wedding. We had approximately 140 people fly in from all over the world. I selected aqua, silver, and white for the wedding colors along with different shades of fuchsia and purple floral for the pop of color. It was a perfect combination to enhance the natural beauty that lies in the Caribbean. I also incorporated my Indian culture by having my mother wear her sari (traditional Indian dress). My bridesmades wore Kaftan’s throughout the weekend along with henna on their hands and bindis on their foreheads for the wedding. Lastly, we can’t forget my favorite part, the food! It was a must to incorporate real Jamaican cuisine which included jerk chicken, oxtails, rice & peas, Caribbean style fish and more that our guests definitely enjoyed!

Advice for future brides

Every wedding is imperfectly perfect! If you encounter any unforeseen events, try your best not to let it distract you from knowing that you are experiencing a life changing time with your spouse, family and friends! My wedding and ceremony was held outside on the beach and surrounding the pool. I was in the dressing room changing into my reception dress when a few friends informed me that my cake fell over due to the heat before we had a chance to see it, let alone do a cake cutting at the reception. Honestly it didn’t bother me one bit. Everyone was shocked since I continued to smile. Nobody was able to control the wind, heat, or any other element that could have caused it to tip over. FYI, since we had a destination wedding weekend, the next day my sister-in-law made a bread pudding during dinner with everyone and we used that for our official cake cutting! It was hilarious but so perfect at the same time! One minor mishap didn’t stop us for enjoying the time of our lives!
