The thing I love most about being an influencer is the ability to reach so many people with a single post. I grew up with a single mother until high school where I was raised by my grandparents. My parents divorced when I was around 5 years old. To this day, I still think it was mainly due to cultural differences being that my mother is Indian and father African American. Interracial marriages are definitely more accepted today and there are so many resources to help people navigate how to make it successful compared to back then. I was never the girl who wanted to get married but if I did, I would pray that God would allow me to raise children in a household with both parents. I’m pretty sure that’s what held me back internally from many previous relationships as well so it was never a priority of mine. I was honestly content with not making a lifelong commitment to someone, not having children, and just being the “rich auntie” that spoiled all my friend’s children.
It’s truly amazing how God works. Clearly he had other plans for me with a divine purpose that has been the greatest blessing imaginable. Many see a beautiful photo of my family and I, but I see answered prayers from that little biracial girl who grew up in a divorced household.
Just a quick reminder to never give up on love. Know your time is coming even if it seems you’re not where you want to be at the moment. Don’t let the pressures of society dictate your love and happiness, when you should get married, have children, etc. I know that feeling like you’re left behind when others around you may have those boxes checked off can be exhausting. But know that your time is coming and you are enough! Find that inner peace and continue to focus on being the best version of yourself. Trust God’s timing, he’s on it even when you don’t expect it!
As always, sending love and positive vibes to you all on this beautiful day! Hope you enjoy some shots from family shoot! Check out my girls rocking blazers! Definitely giving me Miami vibes!
